Rebekah K. Piazza, PT, DPT, CSCS*
Becky earned a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Wisconsin--Madison and went on to complete an additional year-long advanced training through the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics/Meriter Hospital Orthopedic Physical Therapy Clinical Residency Program.
Becky is experienced in treating general and complex orthopedic conditions of the neck, back, pelvis, shoulder, elbow, hip, knee and ankle. She also provides specialty services for patients who suffer from TMJ disorder (jaw pain), hand injuries, and sacroiliac (SI) problems in pregnant clients. She serves as a clinical therapist with Capitol PT as well as our community outreach therapist. She was a former Strength and Conditioning Coach for the University of Wisconsin football team, women’s crew, men and women’s track, men and women’s soccer, women’s volleyball, and women’s softball team. She played on the UW women’s division-one soccer team for 5 years, where she was awarded the Coaches Award, given to a player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. She was named NSCA All-American Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year in 2006, and in 2009, she developed an ‘after school health and wellness program’ to combat childhood obesity for Glendale Elementary School in Monona. She is passionate about preventative care and assisting others in achieving long-term health and wellness. You will see her at many local running, triathlon, and health events.
Becky is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and Wisconsin Physical Therapy Association, with membership in the Women's Health and Orthopedic sections. She enjoys being active, playing soccer, kayaking, participating in triathlons, weight training, and yoga. She resides in Madison with her husband Timothy and Golden Retriever, Charlie.
*CSCS: The CSCS designation is an acronym for Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. This designation is achieved by professionals holding at least a bachelor's degree who pass the CSCS examination. Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists (CSCSs) are professionals who apply scientific knowledge to train athletes for the primary goal of improving athletic performance. They conduct sport-specific testing sessions, design and implement safe and effective strength training and conditioning programs and provide guidance regarding nutrition and injury prevention.
